Reunion stay 2024! (TEENS EVENT)

Blyth Hall, Birmingham

"It was so valuable just having the opportunity to spend a few days with a group of friends who have all had a similar experience to you. It feels so great to just get things off of your chest and not feel judged. The stay really helped me to improve my confidence and also pushed me outside of my comfort zone."

This month, 15 young people joined us for our famous 'Reunion Stay'!

The Reunion stay invites young people who have previously attended our summer activity stay, to join us for a 4 night residential. They reunited with old friends, created new friendships and spent the weekend amongst others who really do 'just get it'.

Joining us at the beautiful Blyth Hall, the group took part in a variety of activities. These ranged from creative activities including pottery and cooking, to our physical activities including our famous Teens Unites Sports Day! And of course it wouldn't be a Teens Unite stay without our Apprentice Challenge. This year, this took the form of our 'Podcast challenge'. We were joined by four incredible mentors including podcast hosts and radio broadcasters who guided the young people through the process of creating a podcast. From branding to promotion, content to hosting skills, they really did cover everything. The groups then each recorded their pilot episode before presenting their epiosde and pitch to our amazing board of judges. The judges were blown away with what the groups had put together in just one day! A huge congratulations to all of the TYA's for taking part, and thank you to all of our incredible mentors and judges for kindly gifting their time and expertise.

On the final night, it was time for our celebration dinner. Everyone got dressed up for the occasion, where they were served a delicious 3 course meal. This was a chance for everyone to reflect on everything that they had achieved throughout the stay, and of course on the amazing friendships made. It really was a truly special evening.

We can't wait for summer where we will be hosting our next residential stay!

Check out everything that we got up to here!
